UNP wins in Badulla Polling Division

The United National Party (UNP) has achieved a decisive victory over the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in the Badulla Polling Division with 21,099 votes compared to the ruling party’s 15,001 votes.
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has received 2,271 votes while the Democratic Unity Alliance, a coalition involving Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and All Ceylon People’s Congress (ACPC), is fourth with 336 votes.
The UNP received 54 per cent of the total votes casted in the Badulla Division while the UPFA managed just 38.40 per cent.
