Kandy Hospital doctor assaulted

A doctor attached to the Kandy Genral Hospital has been assaulted by several individuals, according to a complaint lodged with police.
The doctor had been traveling by car to the hospital from his home when he was attacked on Aruppala Road in Kandy last evening.
The victim has filed a complaint claiming that two individuals in a Defender and another two men who arrived on a motorcycle had carried out the attack.
The doctor is currently receiving treatment at the Kandy Hospital, polcei said.
Kandy Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
