The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says that it will commence special inspections at supermarkets and stores across the country in view of the upcoming festive season.

Special emphasis will be given to identifying shops selling goods at high prices during the festive season and shops engaged in hoarding stocks, CAA Chairman Rumy Marzook said.

CAA officials will also look into the sale of expired products and altering of expiry date.

He stated that inspections will continue throughout next month and will cover most parts of the country.
