While Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official programme has no mention of his meeting with Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, he would be meeting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa among others, the Rediff news reported.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday with an aim to inject new momentum to regional bloc SAARC during its two-day summit beginning on Wednesday as he said development of close relations with neighbours was a key priority for his government.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, left for Kathmandu, Nepal, to attend the 18th SAARC Summit, taking place Nov. 25-27.

The 18th Summit of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) is being held in Kathmandu for the third time. The first time it took place in Nepal was in 1987 and the second was in 2002.
