Alayadivembu PS Budget defeated

The 2015 Budget of the TNA-controlled Alayadivembu Pradeshiya Sabha has been defeated today after a TNA member and an independent member joined the opposition (UPFA) and voted against the budget.

The Alayadivembu Pradeshiya Sabha consists of 5 Tamil National Alliance (TNA) members, 3 United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and one independent member.

TNA member B. Thyagaraja and independent member E. Wadiwel today joined the UPFA opposition and voted against the budget.

The two PS members were greeted with garlands by the Opposition Leader of the Alayadivembu PS, K. Ragupathi, after the budget vote and they later met with Senior Minister for Food Security, P. Dayaratne, to pledge their support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the election.
