UPDATE: 4 dead, 2 critical after train collides with cab

Four persons of the same family were killed and 2 others critically injured after a cab collided with a train at the Batuwatta crossing on the main railway line today, police said.

Police said that a family of six were traveling in the cab at the time of the accident. The father, two sons and a daughter died while another daughter and the mother are currently receiving treatment at the Ragama Hospital.

Sri Lanka Railways said that train services on the main railway line have temporarily halted due to the accident involving a train traveling from Colombo to Vavuniya and a SUV.
