38-year-old man shot dead in Bingiriya

A 38-year-old man has been gunned down and murdered near the Bingiriya weekly market today, police said.

Four individuals who had arrived on two motorcycles opened fire at the victim before attacking him with a sharp object.

He was rushed to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital in critical condition, however had succumbed to injuries on the way, police said.

The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained while Bingiriya Police is conducting an investigation to apprehend the suspects responsible.
