Younis Khan smashed an unbeaten 171 to steer Pakistan to a famous seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the final day of the final Test of the three-match series in Pallekele on Tuesday (July 7).

Set a massive 377 for victory, Pakistan mounted their highest chase in Test history with consummate ease, surging home in the post-lunch session on the back of Younis’s 30th Test hundred and his 242-run third-wicket stand with Shan Masood.

Misbah-ul-Haq, the skipper, brought up victory with a towering six off Jehan Mubarak as Pakistan completed their first series win in Sri Lanka in nine years.
