Janaka Bandara Tennakoon arrested

Central Provincial Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon says that his father former Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).


The police Spokesperson said that the former Minister was arrested in connection with the murder of an individual in Dambulgamuwa in 1999. 


“Former Minister Tennakoon had been asked to appear in the CID this morning. But he did not. Later, the CID arrested him at a private hospital,” Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said. 


The former Minister is currently being treated at the private hospital in Colombo under police guard, the Spokesperson added.
