Parliament adjourned for ten minutes

A tense situation arose at the Parliament and the Speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes, a short while ago on Thursday afternoon, Ada Derana reporter said.


The tense situation sparked when a request was made to the Speaker to table a letter submitted to the House by former Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was dismissed, the reporter added.


The letter was about the transfer of several senior officers attached to the Central Bank, it was reported.


The argument broke out as the Speaker apprised the House that the letter would be tabled tomorrow, not today with he had no time to go through the letter as it was given to him just few minutes ago the session started.
