The Kayts Magistrate today further remanded the ten suspects, who were arrested in connection with the gang-rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl in Punkudithivu, until February 19.

The suspects were remanded when the case was taken up for hearing before Additional Magistrate E. Sabesan.

The incident had also triggered violent protests in Jaffna, as people who had gathered outside the court complex went on rampage when police brought the arrested persons to the court earlier.
