Thotalanga bridge now open for traffic- police

February 17, 2016   10:15 am

Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship Bridge in Thotalanga is now open for traffic after clearing protesters off the road, the police said.

Heavy traffic reported from Nawaloka Roundabout in Peliyagoda to Thotalanga due to the protest since last night.

The demonstration was staged in protest over the decision to remove illegal construction sites in the area. Several police teams and police anti-riot units were too deployed there to control the situation.
