Power outage affects water treatment plants

The Ambatale and Kandana water purification plants have come to a standstill due to the sudden power failure. 

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that operations will be back to normal at the plants once power is restored.

An island-wide blackout occurred at around 2.30pm today (13) and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is still in the process of restoring electricity to several areas int he country.
