Murder suspect arrested with T56 rifle in Hambantota

A suspect wanted in connection with a murder carried out in the Ambalangoda area in March has been arrested with a T56 assault rifle and ten bullets in Hambantota. 

The 25-year-old resident of Meetiyagoda was arrested in a operation carried out, based on information received by the Tangalle division crimes unit. 

Police said that a warrant had been issued for his arrest over a murder which had taken place in Ambalangoda in March this year. 

The suspect is to be produced at the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court while Hambantota Police are conducting further investigations.
