The Bhikkhu Voice organization on Monday (25) slammed the government over its alleged move to obtain enjoining orders to halt the scheduled protest march of the Joint Opposition.

The observation was made by Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo.

“Obtaining court orders seem to be the only way what government could do to stop the protests,” Ananda Thero added. He also accused several politicians of threatening monks not to attend the protest march.

The protest march has been organised by the Join Opposition from Colombo to Kandy from 28 July.
