Committee report on controversial coal purchase handed over

The report of the three-member committee appointed to look into tender procedure for the purchase of coal for the Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant in Norochcholai has been handed over to the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.

The committee comprising Prof. K.K.Y.W. Perera, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala and Prof. Janaka B. Ekanayake was appointed by the minister on July 13.

Minister Siyambalapitiya says that the report will be presented to Parliament and relased to the media in the near future.
