Lakshman Yapa appointed Matara District SLFP leader

Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena has been appointed as the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) for the Matara district.


President Maithripala Sirisena handed over his letter of appointment a short while ago on Monday afternoon.


This came after UPFA MP Dullas Alahapperuma resigned from the Matara District SLFP leadership post on 19 August.
