President must reveal all the secrets - Gammanpila

The President must reveal all the ‘secrets’ he knows with respect of the members of the former government, the Joint Opposition urged.

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila made the observation while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (22).

He was referring to a comment made by President Maithripala Sirisena who warned the members of the former government that information kept as secrets so far would be disclosed if a ‘new’ political party is formed.

Gammanpila alleged the observation provides proof that the President likely had an intention to protect the wrongdoers if they back the coalition government.

“If someone has committed a crime, they should be put behind bars despite whether they are going to form a new party or not,” he added.
