Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Minister Mano Ganesan should be arrested, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila says.

The observation was made while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (10).

He pointed out the reconciliation process has come to an abrupt end in Sri Lanka due to disputes between Kumaratunga and Ganesan.

“Not us, they should have been put behind bars in the first place for disrupting the reconciliation process,” he added.

While responding to a question raised by a reporter, Gammanpila also vowed the Joint Opposition would not contest the forthcoming election under leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena.

“We will contest with an alliance led by the former President. Once the election date is fixed, more details relating to the new alliance will be disclosed,” Gammanpila said.
