The victory of Republican President-elect Donald Trump is a testament to the fact that love for one’s country is indeed what is most important, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says.

While congratulating to Donald Trump, the former President made this observation in a Facebook post a short while ago on Wednesday (09).

“Congratulations to Donald Trump. His victory is a testament to the fact that love for one’s country is indeed what’s most important,” Rajapaksa said in the Facebook post.

Republican Donald Trump defeated his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the US election, according to foreign media reports, and will become America’s next president.
