Some people who conspired to topple the previous government are overwhelmed with fear after realising that people are still with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, MP Keheliya Rambukwella says.

He made the observation while speaking to reporters at a press conference held in Colombo on Monday.

“And they thought Mahinda would just stay in his home after the election defeat, but the opposite happened,” he said.

Rambukwella also underlined that the Yahapalana government assured to restore the democracy in the country by forming independent commissions, but that vow only limited to words.

Meanwhile, MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage predicted that ‘several new faces’ will probably be seen at the Joint Oppositions’ scheduled rally in Negegoda on 27 January.
