Police to crack down on vehicles with tinted windows

Sri Lanka Police said that legal action will be taken against motorists covering the driver and front passenger windows with tints or curtains, with effect from today (Jan. 19).
Police say the covering of the driver’s side window and the front passenger’s window with tints or curtains is one of the causes for the increase in traffic accidents.
DIG (Traffic Range) K. Palitha Fernando has therefore issued instructions to carry out a traffic operation on a police station level to nab motorists who have covered the front windows of their vehicles in such a manner and take legal action against those who fail to remove them.
This operation will be carried out from today (19) till January 31, 2017.
