Post-lockdown religious observances for Poya…

July 4, 2020

Buddhist devotees were seen taking part in religious observances at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya today (04), in view of the Esala Full Moon Poya.

The government lifted the curfew as the country is gradually returning to normalcy with no community infections from COVID-19 being reported for over a month.

Hence, the devotees, who had to restrict religious practices to their homes within the past three months, are now allowed to participate in religious observances at places of worship, however, with compliance to health guidelines.
