Increase in showery weather from today

Due to the wave type disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, Showery weather condition is expected to be enhanced during next few days, the Met. Department said.


Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Central, Uva and Southern provinces.


Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere, particularly after 2.00 pm. Heavy falls (about 100 mm) are also likely at some places.


Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
