One dead, 5 injured as van topples down precipice

One person died while another 5 were injured after the van they were traveling in veered off the road and toppled down a precipice in Riverston, Rattota.
Six individuals including the driver of the van were admitted to the Rattota Hospital following the accident, however one of the them, a 36-year-old from Matara, succumbed to injuries shortly after.
The five other wounded passengers have been transferred to the Matale Hospital for further treatment.
