Govt. accepts need for private universities - Kiriella

The government accepts the need for private higher education institutions, Minister of Higher Education and Highways, Lakshman Kiriella says.

He also stated that there was no possibility of shutting down SAITM.

The Minister stated this at a live TV interview held yesterday (25).

The Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Rajitha Senaratne, who also attended the TV interview, added that further steps would be taken after taking into consideration the decision made by the court regarding the SAITM issue.
