GMOA strike: patients in distress

Reports state that the strike conducted by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has disrupted health care services at state hospitals across the island.

The GMOA’s token one-day strike commenced at 08.00 am today (22), seeking responses from the government to the four demands made by the association.

The strike is currently in progress in hospitals islandwide.

Ada Derana reporters stated that a large number of patients seeking treatment have been turned away on account of the strike, which has crippled services at government hospitals.
