GMOA distributes leaflets to raise public awareness about SAITM issue

May 22, 2017   05:50 pm

Leaflets, courtesy of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), were handed out at the Fort Railway Station in the morning today (22), in an effort to raise awareness among the public.

Our reporters stated that the leaflet distribution programme commenced at 07.00 am today (22).

The leaflets were distributed in line with the GMOA strike which was also conducted today (22).

The strike was conducted based on reasons such as the government’s failure to provide a solution to the SAITM issue, and the failure to take legal action against the live grenade attack against the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) premises.

The National Trade Union Center and various other trade unions reportedly participated in the leaflet distribution programme.
