The government cannot solve the problems of the country by merely reshuffling the ministerial positions, Sri Lanka Communist Party MP Chandrasiri Gajadheera says.

The MP stated this upon attending a press conference of the Socialist People’s Front today (22).

MP Gajadheera further stated that the government had finally accomplished the long-awaited task of reshuffling the cabinet today, but added that this would not change the primary economic plan carried out by the government.

He stated that whilst it may be the aim of the government to convince the public that a cabinet reshuffling would help develop the economy, without proper economic policies it won’t matter who is appointed to the ministerial posts.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party, Tissa Vitharana, who also attended the press conference, stated that although today (22) was supposed to be Sri Lanka’s Republic Day, the reigning government had no motivation whatsoever to celebrate such a historical significant day.
