Carbide tank explosion in Veyangoda leaves one dead

An explosion of a Carbide tank in Veyangoda claimed the life of an individual, earlier today (23). 

The explosion which occurred at around 8.30 am today resulted in an industry worker nearby receiving critical injuries.

Police stated that the  worker had later passed away after being admitted to the Wathupitiwala District base Hospital.

The deceased is a 65-year-old male from the Kurikotuwa area. 

Veyangoda Police department have begun further investigations on the matter.
