President to meet the Sri Lankan community in Australia today

President Maithripala Sirisena who is currently visiting Australia in an official capacity will reportedly be meeting the Sri Lankan community living in Australia today (24).

The gathering is set to take place in the Sri Lankan High Commissioner’s Office in Australia.

President Sirisena who departed from Colombo at around 1.00 pm yesterday (23) landed in Canberra in the early hours of today (24).

The President and his delegation were welcomed by an assembly comprised of the Australian Minister of Education and Training Senator Simon Birmingham and several others, who welcomed the Sri Lankan troupe on behalf of the government of Australia.

A special welcoming ceremony also awaited the President upon his arrival at the hotel in Canberra where he will be staying during his time in Australia.
