President vows action against alleged illegal deforestation near Wilpattu

President Maithripala Sirisena has turned his attention to look in to an alleged illegal deforestation taking place near the Wilpattu National Park.


This came after Ada Derana revealed facts with respect to the alleged deforestation at its 6.55 news bulletin today (18).


President Sirisena has also vowed to take speedy action after conducting a preliminary investigation regarding the matter.


It has come to light, the racketeers have deforested an area which is said to be located at a state owned land in Wanathawilluwa, Wilpattu.
