Railway employees to strike from midnight Tuesday

The Locomotive Engineering Operators’ Union (LEOU) says that an islandwide strike will be commenced from midnight Tuesday (20).


The LEOU pointed out its decision has been announced to the relevant authorities in written.


Secretary of the LEOU stated that strike will be launched since the authorities have failed to address their issues and as the Transport Ministry has violated the appointment procedure by assigning the engine drivers’ duties to the co-drivers.
