Chief Minister of the Western Province, Isura Devapriya said that Basil Rajapaksa was solely to be blamed for the heated situation of the North-Central Provincial Council.
He stated this upon attending a press conference today (19).
Devapriya stated that Basil Rajapaksa had created the dispute back in 2012, and that what was showcased at the North-central Provincial Council yesterday (18) was only a segment of the dispute.
He added that the effects of the Dittha-Dhamma-Vedaniya Kamma (“Immediate Effect” karma, according to Buddhist philosophy) were felt by the United National Party (UNP) when they ended up having to oust the very leader of the Provincial Council they helped appoint.
At present, members of provincial councils don’t even understand the value of the mace, Chief Minister Isura Devapriya said, and added that certain individuals were not aware of their place and their limits.
