Three new projects converting waste to electricity in August - Ranawaka

Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, Champika Ranawaka stated that three projects targeting the conversion of waste to energy for electricity generation  will commence in August of this year (2017). 

Ranawaka stated that while 300 out of 700 tons of garbage is currently being used to produce compost, a further 100 tons are being recycled at the moment. 

He further added that the government is looking forward to developing their waste management strategy, at  the opening ceremony of the Rs. 30,000,000 Ella Railway Square.
