A troubled group of Sri Lankan women who had migrated to Kuwait looking for employment, were brought back down to Sri Lanka earlier today (25).

Ada Derana’s BIA correspondent stated that 51 women were flown back into the country this morning.

The women had arrived at the Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait seeking protection from the mistreatment, after which they were allowed to temporarily remain at the embassy till their journey to Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, the  Foreign Employment Bureau had intervened in the matter while arrangements were made to transport the individuals to their respective houses.
