Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa stated that the leaders of the Joint Opposition (JO) were in the process of hosting discussions in order to file a motion of no confidence against Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

He stated this upon attending a media briefing of the JO today (26).

Rakapaksa also said that the JO would do everything in their power to put a stop to the injustice caused to the public by the Central Bank bond scandle.

He added that not only would the country and the Port Authority lose a port through the new Hambantota Port Bill, it would also cost the Government a loss of Rs. 1,039 trillion within 99 years.

The Government has no concern for this loss, he proceeded to say.

Furthermore, Rajapaksa questioned as to why a Government that was selling off state treasures in an attempt to cover up its own weaknesses, was selling off state treasures at a very low cost merely to make another country happy.
