President Sirisena congratulates newly elected Indian President

Congratulating the newly elected Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, President Maithripala Sirisena expressed his willingness to work closely with the new Indian President to further develop and strengthen excellent bilateral relations and cooperation which exists between the two countries.

Sending a congratulatory message to his Indian counterpart, the Sri Lankan President stated that the vision and maturity of the new President will enormously be beneficial in achieving harmony and unity that will encompass all communities in India.

“Your knowledge and the proven skills in governance will contribute to the nation and its people in achieving prosperity and development. Your position in this august position, undoubtedly will continue to be a source of inspiration in your country’s efforts to realize its goals and objectives,” he was quoted as saying by the President’s Media Division.

Earlier, President Sirisena congratulated the new Indian President Ram Nath Kovind through a twitter message.
