Suspects attempting to flee with Rs.1.7 million detained

Officials of the Habaraduwa Police unit were able to apprehend 4 suspects in possession of Rs.1.7 million who were attempting to escape after an attempted robbery. 

The Police were able to make the arrest after they received intelligence of a van transporting Tobacco that had a group of persons who had robbed a sum close to Rs. 1.75 million in Makumbura. 

AT the time of arrest, the Police confiscated a sum of Rs.1 Million 47,370, a hand grenade, two swords and several face masks that were used by the 4 persons. 

It has been reported that the arrested persons are residents of the Galle region and are currently being questioned by Police Officials of the Hamaraduwa Police station.
