BIA officials bust Chinese Glyphosate racket

Customs staff members attached to the Cargo Examination directorate apprehended a consignment of Glyphosate upon the examination of a container at the Orugodawatta container yard yesterday (22). 

It has been reported that 17687Kgs of Glychosate was packed in 3948 cans that arrived in the country through a Chinese source. 

The goods in question were declared to the customs unit as Urea liquid fertilizer. The confiscated goods have been valued at Rs.60 million.
