Reveries of the public are gradually being realized – President

President Maithripala Sirisena stated the steps taken by the government to achieve prosperity and sustainability have now come into fruition.
 
He also mentioned that the government extended extensive efforts to rid the country of its crushing debt burden and foster reconciliation within the country gaining severe appraisal from the international community. 

Speaking at an event hosted for Sri Lankans living in America yesterday (23), President Sirisena stated that the government is gradually taking steps to ensure that the dreams of the Sri Lankan public are being realized. 

The Head of State further stated that several media institutions and social media personalities attempt to mislead the Sri Lankan populace who reside overseas, filling social media with lies about the country. President Sirisena stated that under his patronage all steps will be taken to establish Sri Lanka as a credible forthright nation with a well-respected identity within the global community. 
 
The President’s Media Division reports that the President visited the New York Buddhist Viharaya in Queens Village to participate in a religious observance while taking his time off his diplomatic duties.
