The Vice President of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, has stated that he ‘felt bad’ when he saw the body of slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, who ordered the assassination of his father – former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.

He said his family has Mahatma Gandhi’s values and he felt bad when he saw the body of his father Rajiv Gandhi’s assailant.

“My family has Gandhi Ji’s values. I felt bad when I saw the body of my father’s killer Prabhakaran. I shared this even with Priyanka, she said she felt bad too,” he was quoted as saying by Indian media today (10).

Rahul Gandhi made these remarks while interacting with students in Vadodara, Gujarat.

He is touring the BJP’s strongest citadels in the state where the Congress has been out of power for nearly 20 years.
