Next govt will face worst debt crisis in 2025 – Bandula

October 17, 2017   03:51 pm

UPFA Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardena says that Sri Lanka’s worst ever government debt crisis will come to pass in the year 2025 and not today and that it would have to be faced by the next government which comes to power.

Speaking during a ‘Joint Opposition’ press conference in Colombo today (17), he stated that not spending 20 per cent of the 2016 budget is a big issue and that under such a situation the country would face a massive debt crisis in the future.

The former minister claimed that certain ‘conspirators’ within the incumbent government have deceived the President and the Prime Minister by providing them with incorrect data and that the former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake is the chief accused in this.

However, the Prime Minister is deceiving the entire country by continuously claiming that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is the reason the country cannot pay back its debts.
