No casualties during Gintota incident – Abeywardena

Minister of Home Affairs Vajira Abeywardena stated that the government will provide compensation to all properties and goods that were damaged during the tense situation that ensued in Galle following a clash between two groups on Friday (17). 

Speaking at a press briefing last night (18), The Minister of Home Affairs stated that the rumours circulating throughout the media that there were several casualties during the incident are false.   

He further urged the general public not to mislead one another by spreading false facts on the happenings in Galle. 

Meanwhile Minister Gayantha Karunathilake, IGP Pujith Jayasundara and several other high ranking military officers’ participated at the press conference.
