No fuel shortage: public urged not to panic – CPSTL

The Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal Ltd (CPSTL), urged the general public not to panic as there is no fuel shortage within the country.
CPSTL officials confirmed that an adequate amount of fuel reserves has been stocked within the CPSTL. It was further stated that all fuel stations across the country have been supplied with adequate amounts of fuel.
Several lines of traffic were reported near filling stations as a result of a rumour that another fuel crisis would arise in the near future.
Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum Resource Development Upali Marasinghe gave an exclusive statement to Ada Derana, confirming that there is no need to panic as an adequate amount of fuel that has been distributed to filling stations across the country.
He also stated that a large volume of fuel consignments are expected arrive in the country within the next few weeks.
