Fallen tree disrupts trains on Kelani Valley line

November 21, 2017   07:33 am

Train services on the Kelani Valley line have been disrupted due to a fallen tree across the track at Dematagoda.

The Railway Control Room said that the tree had fallen on the tracks between Maradana and Baseline railway stations last night and that it has still not been removed by the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).

This has hampered train services on the line. The CMC says that the removal of the tree could damage the nearby homes.

Therefore trains are unable to travel from Dematagoda to Fort while all trains on the Kelani Valley line has been restricted to Maradana.
