Rajapaksa avoided same fate as Mugabe – Chameera Perera

Everyone who contributed towards January 08 revolution should be thanked for not letting former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to suffer the same fate as Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, Co-Convener of Left Centre Chameera Perera said.

Addressing a media briefing held at Colombo today, (22) he said that Robert Mugabe was the best living example for  how  Mahinda Rajapaksa ruled reign is Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

Mahinda Rajapakse’s dictatorial reign through family rule changed on January 08, 2015 due to the democratic forces that aligned on January 08, he pointed out.

Perera further said that the Bond scam has now become a serious issue and that the Prime Minister had also testified before the Bond Commission.

He said that  Mahinda Rajapaksa no longer takes decisions with an iron fist and that the Bond commission gave birth to a new political culture.
