Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that he did not in any way safeguard Arjun Aloysius even though he is a long standing acquaintance closely affiliated with him.

The Minister of Sports expressed these sentiments while addressing the media following the cabinet meeting held yesterday (22).

He further went on to state that he was not a member of the initial COPE committee and that he underwent a temporary hiatus from politics from the year 2013.

The Minister also stated that Arjun Aloysius had telephone conversations with him when he was not a member of the initial COPE committee.
