Viyana tragedy; body of missing teenager recovered

The body of the 17-year-old boy who went missing after a car toppled in to the Viyana Canal was recovered this morning (24).

The body was recovered near Gemunupura Textile factory some kilometers away from where the accident occurred, it is reported.

A couple was killed and their 17-year-old son went missing when the car they were travelling toppled into the Viyana Canal in Mahiyanganaya yesterday (23).

A mother, father and their twin sons were reportedly traveling in the vehicles when the accident occurred.

The bodies of the mother and father were recovered yesterday.

The deceased couple was identified as a 43-year-old male and 40-year-old woman from Digana, Kandy.
 
However, the other son of the deceased couple had managed to escape unharmed in the accident.
