The Sri Lanka-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Association (SLPPFA) condoned the stance taken by President Donald Trump in his recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

President of the SLPPFA Minister Rajitha Senaratne and Secretary Bimal Ratnayake issued a joint statement condoning the stance taken by the President of the United States.

The statement read that as advocates of democracy and peace the SLPPFA cannot conform to the decision of President Trump and that the stance taken is an extremely one-sided and biased.

It further read that this will further intensify the conflicts within the middle East.
